Jo Hampson-Gilbert began her musical studies at the age of six, and later won a full scholarship to study at Trinity College of Music, London.
Jo is an active freelance musician having performed with many leading Orchestras, ensembles and chamber groups including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra, London Soloists Chamber Orchestra, London Kensington Orchestra, New London Orchestra, St Paul’s Sinfonia, Sibelius Festival Orchestra, and the Urban Soul Orchestra.
She is a founder member and manager of The Arcosanti String Quartet and String Duo.
Jo has recorded for multiple media and record labels and is an experienced session musician.
She pursues a busy career as a performer, upper strings teacher and therapist.
Jo is a fully qualified music teacher and has held upper strings teaching posts at Magdalen College School Oxford, King Edwards School Bath, and Prior Park College.
Jo is active in the management and promotion of musicians. She keenly supports her students through ABRSM and Trinity examinations, prepares them for NCO auditions, Music conservatoire and University auditions.
